I also have two I-485s pending. I contacted the attorneys about this and they said not to do anything with them. Let USCIS deny one of those when time comes. Sending any sort of communication to USCIS might cause more confusion than necessary. I hope that helps.

A new immigration enforcement bill that would remove the jobs magnet for illegal immigration is expected to be introduced in the House very soon. The SAVE Act (Secure America with Verification Enforcement) will be sponsored by Rep. Heath Shuler (D-N.C.) and is expected to have bi-partisan support. NumbersUSA believes this bill originating on the Democratic side of the House is just the vehicle to give us a chance to actually pass immigration legislation through a Democratic-controlled Congress that would significantly improve the lives of most Americans. The White House has a "NO MATCH" rule which was exactly like the SAVE :D Act ( How do they come up with these names ) ? The NO MATCH rule was blocked 2 times in a row by US Judges . I wonder why do they waste time drafting these non starters. Waste of paper and Printer ink is at the most that these Bills go to .. "SAVE" the trees at least .

Hi, My wife and I received three emails each regarding 485 approval ("notice mailed welcoming new permanent resident," "CPO ordered," and "approval notice sent") on 9/8. My wife received her "welcome notice" and the card itself within a few days. But I have not received either yet.
1. I know the CPO email says wait 30 days, but given that my wife has already received hers, I suspect that mine was either sent to an incorrect address or there's some other hold up. Anyone else in a similar situation? Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions?
2. I guess I can wait 30 days and then apply for a replacement card with an I-90 (for which the current processing time is 3.5 months). How can I travel internationally in the interim? If anyone is aware, please let me know; I am trying to have a plan in place, in case an emergency arises.
Take infopass, go with your welcome notice, get 551 stamp - it will allow you to travel until you get the physical card. Usually, 551 stamp is valid 1 year from the date of stamping.

My priority date (July 06 ) and EB3-ROW . I got couple of LUD ( 4 after June 30, 2009) recently on my I-485 application. In fact I got a LUD today also. I am wondering whether you also got any LUD recently.

Yes some have not received CPO...they say they will get a deportation notice soon as a result of not receiving CPO but directly receiving "Approval Notice Sent".

hey guys, what are you doing for taxation and new year planning for your businesses? Guys,
I did 3 Years Diploma in Computer Science after 10+2(Non Medical) from India and I have about 16 years of experience in IT. I am thinking of using this education to complete my Bachelors here in US. I would like to know what would my education equate to US Education.
I need an Idea how many courses I would have to take to complete the Bachelors? Please share any tips that would help me take less number of courses.It's not easy with kids.

My employer "ABC" (Consultancy) based in Ohio made me sign a Cognovit Promissory Note for 'X' amount ( where 'X' is a pretty large amount) on my arrival to US on H1-B visa earlier this year. I've been associated with him for less than an year now.
Question:
Does this note have any significance according to US law, esp. Ohio?
If I plan to move from this consultancy, can this note be held as a Legal Document and any legal action taken against me based on this note?
What is my way out of this?
I would be highly obliged if anyone can provide any help on this matter.

the law depends on state. Its worth paying the lawyer few hundred bucks to findout what laws pertain to Ohio specifically.
Generally bonds are not legally enforceable, but lawyers may know better and explain you the fine print.

Very interesting flower, great colors and shapes. I don't have a suggestion for the DOF problem, but I think this is a case where the flower is so unique I'm not thinking of the technicalities very much. I like the second picture, but it'd be great to pair it with an "overview" shot to understand how the whole flower/plant looks.

Focus on the core issues (if you care), not on extraneous stuff. For petes sake, it is already approved, seems like most of us are only focussed on our own backs or riding on others.

Traveling for the 1st time on AP (used H1 stamp previously, now I am on ead), wanted to know how the experience at SFO is. Do they always send you for secondary inspection? Anything else to know beforehand?
